Boise, ID 6:00 am Pace: 9:06 I went out a little earlier this morning (Not jtshad from Idaho Falls early, but early for me) to get in a long run. I wanted to get one in before Baltimore and with my crazy schedule, this was really the only time to do it. I kept it pretty slow and easy, not really pushing myself at all. That turned out to be a good thing, I think. I felt really good at the end (I never feel really good at the end of a 20 mile run) and I'm not shot for the rest of the day -- which is a good thing since I still have to work, cut the grass and plant some trees today. This was a good prep for the upcoming race, if for no other reason than to get it back in my head that I can go long without bonking like I did in Pocatello. The problem I seem to have is that I always go out too fast. I need to get better at pacing myself. That it took me four marathons and how many training runs to realize that probably says something about my intelligence. In the words of Homer Simpson, "Lord help me, I'm just not that bright."
