| | Boise, ID 6:30 am Pace: 8:22 I half expected Randy to not show this morning since he has the week off, but there he was at 6:30 am in the morning. It was a pretty good run, except for the big mean dog on Duane street. Somebody must have left their gate open because that big mean dog came right at us. It wasn't a nice bark either, it was one of those mean barks that says "I could eat you both for breakfast and come to think of it, I'm kind of hungry." We had to stop and walk past the dog, so he wouldn't eat us. The rest of the run was uneventful.

| | Meridian, ID 6:10 am Pace: 8:44 Kind of cold, in the mid 20s. I dressed warm enough so it was fine. No big mean dogs today. Listening to Dennis Miller interview Ed O'Neal from 'Married With Children' and Peter Noon from 'Herman's Hermits.' I feel so enlightened now.

| | Boise, ID 6:30 am Pace: 8:32 Snow. Not real slick, but you have to work at every step. It was a good workout. Had me huffing and puffing just to keep up.

Boise New Year's Day 5k (3.1 Miles) 00:23:09, Place overall: 37, Place in age division: 7 | | Once again I stayed up late, ate like crap for several straight weeks and then tried to run a 5k on New Year's morning. And each year I get a bit slower. It is a fun race though. Hang out in the RAM till just before race time. Run fast. Go back inside the RAM to eat some really good soup, get warm and watch some football. I have a really good excuse this time. The course was really slick in a few places and had a big puddle to run through at one point. But, that's not why I ran slower than last year. I'm just out of shape right now. Good motivation to go on a diet in January.
