It felt really cold this morning. I don't think it was any colder than yesterday, but I froze.

Another pretty good run in the cold this morning. Randy ran into a ditch. I saw him running towards it, but didn't say anything because I thought he knew what he was doing. He didn't. Good thing it wasn't full of water.

Did about five and a half this morning and then got it the car, drove to the shop and ran home. It was cold. Somewhere around 20. I ran pretty slow during the first run, but picked up the pace coming back from the shop. Mainly because I was cold and wanted to get back to my warm house.

Ran back to the shop after the car was fixed. Still cold, but not near as bad. Had more energy, so I ran faster.

I was on my own this morning. Didn't run very fast, but at least I was out there -- it was cold again. I bet it will be cold tomorrow too. Just a guess.

Friday night as I was getting my shoes and running clothes out my wife asked me why I had to run on Saturday morning.

Her: Is it your obsession with getting in 40 miles a week? Your obsession with running 6 days a week? Or is it your need to keep your streak of 100 mile months going?

Me: Um, all of the above.

Her: Fair enough

Wasn't sure if Randy was going to show up because it was cold and snowy this morning. He did show and we put in a pretty good run. It's tougher running in the snow because you have to pay attention to every step. We had to stop at a traffic light at McMillian and Cloverdale. I was really cold after that.

Didn't wear the Garmin this morning. Battery was dead. I need to figure out what causes that.

Oh, man. It was cold this morning. The thermometer read zero, but because I'm an idiot, I went out anyway. Two shirts, a running jacket and a hoodie kept my top warm enough. My legs were cold and the two pair of gloves weren't enough for my hands. I ran really slow because I was cold and the roads were really slick.

Still cold. One web site said it was 1, another said it was -3. I wasn't sure Randy was going to show, but there he was. We did decide to cut it short though. We went out of the subdivision and then along Ustick and back home on Cloverdale. About 2 miles. Then I thought it would be a good idea to do another lap on my own. It wasn't a good idea. My hands, and legs, and feet got really, really cold. Maybe it will be warmer tomorrow.

I dressed warmer today. My arms actually got hot. But my face was still really cold and I kept my hands balled up in the inside of my gloves to keep them warm. I probably looked funny with my fingers flapping.

I got an email from Randy this morning. Looks like I'm on my own tomorrow. That's because Randy is smarter than I am.

It warmed up to 18 this morning. Downright balmy. Tough to keep the pace up with the new fallen snow. Every step slips a bit. Looks like it's supposed to keep snowing all next week.

Pace was really slow this morning because of the snow. The weather was in the low 20s and very foggy. Kind of spooky out there.

Not as cold as it has been, but raining and really slick. I was lucky to make it home without falling on my can a few times. Had to keep it really slow just to stay on my feet.

Surprisingly good weather this morning. About 39 degrees and not raining. The streets were wet but not slick. Nice to get a grip after the snow and ice I've run in for the past week or so.

Black ice was really slick this morning. Just going through the motions these days. Getting the miles in and trying to not fall on my butt.

Randy finally decided to join me again today. It was slick again this morning. I stayed on my feet the whole way but almost bit it about 100 yards from my house.

Just looked at my mileage for the month and I'm over 100. Now I've run at least 100 miles for 24 straight months.

Felt kind of sluggish. I think running on such slick surfaces all week took a lot out of me. You really have to work hard to get through those workouts without falling. I was just tired this morning.

My Garmin broke when I was charging after this run. Just dead. I left it plugged in overnight and it came back. Hope it's not an omen of things to come.

Ran with Randy this morning. That got my pace up more than running alone does.

The top of my right foot has been hurting at the beginning of my workouts lately. I think it is because of the shoes. I tried loosening them up a bit at the bottom. I think it helped.

The snow is back. It was barely below freezing out there, so it wasn't real slick. I enjoyed the run except for the snow getting in my eyes. I hate that.

Cold but dry this morning so we were able to keep a decent pace. One more run tomorrow morning then I'll take Friday off. Got plans that day.

Cold. Kind of slow, but not a bad way to start the holiday weekend. I was listening to a podcast of Dennis Miller interviewing Buzz Aldren about the future of the space program and realized I was running under the stars on a cold, clear morning. That was kind of cool.

I set my alarm and then turned it off. What was I thinking. It's the Saturday after Christmas. Why did I even think about getting up early. So I slept in for a while then got up and fixed the kids some waffles. Ate some waffles myself and then went running. Apparently the waffles served me well. It was a nice run and I felt good the whole way.

I half expected Randy to not show this morning since he has the week off, but there he was at 6:30 am in the morning. It was a pretty good run, except for the big mean dog on Duane street. Somebody must have left their gate open because that big mean dog came right at us. It wasn't a nice bark either, it was one of those mean barks that says "I could eat you both for breakfast and come to think of it, I'm kind of hungry." We had to stop and walk past the dog, so he wouldn't eat us.

The rest of the run was uneventful.

Kind of cold, in the mid 20s. I dressed warm enough so it was fine. No big mean dogs today. Listening to Dennis Miller interview Ed O'Neal from 'Married With Children' and Peter Noon from 'Herman's Hermits.' I feel so enlightened now.

Snow. Not real slick, but you have to work at every step. It was a good workout. Had me huffing and puffing just to keep up.
