So, at the end of my run on Friday I said to Randy "Same time on Monday?" He said "sure." That seemed like such a good idea on Friday. At six a.m on Memorial Day, not so much. But I got up and went and was glad I did because I wouldn't have gotten a run in any other time today.

Halfway through this morning's run I felt a serious need to drop a deuce. But, since I was running through neighborhoods with no convenient stores or anyplace else to take care of business, I just kept running. I wonder how running with your butt cheeks clenched affects your gait.

Good times!

I'm gonna go out on a limb and postulate the theory that proper running economy is adversely affected by the relative tension in one's arse cheeks. That said, I can personally attest that it can serve as a powerful motivating factor toward increasing one's speed, especially over short distances. ;)

Well put. I think you are right on both accounts.

This is one of those conversations that can only be had with fellow runners.
