Somewhere in the Caribean, about 100 miles from Turks and Caicos 7am

Pace: Hard to say, the ship was moving

The sign on deck 4 of the Disney Fantasy said 2.5 times around the track was a mile, so I went around 10 times. I turned on the GPS just so I could see where I was when I got home.

Running around the deck that bad. Hot on one side, windy on the other, cool in the tunnels at the front and back. I had trouble keeping track of where I was at first, but then I noticed that the life boats were all facing the front of the ship, so when I came out of the tunnel seeing propellers, I knew it was time to press the lap button on my watch.

Went up to deck 11 and jumped in the pool afterward. It's the only time of the day that I have the pool to myself.

25 laps on deck 4 while the ship heads into dock at St. Maarten. Another good run. Now off to the beach.

St. Thomas, USVI 6:30am

Seven miles on the deck as the boat heads into St. Thomas. Running a little shorter this morning so we can get off of the boat and go to the beach again.

Caribean Sea 7:30am

25 laps again. Looking at the GPS, the ship is very close to where it was on Monday, about 100 miles from Turks and Caicos.

Castaway Cay, Bahamas 7:30am

4 miles

Going to run the 5k on the Disney Island, so only doing 4 miles on the deck this morning.

Castaway Cay 5k

Time 20:32 Pace: 6:40

I didn't put this as a race report because it wasn't really a race. They had a clock and numbers, but I don't think they really kept track of anything.

We met in one of the lounges and got off the ship before most of the other passengers. Then we walked about 10 minutes to the starting line. When they said GO I ran around a couple of people and discovered that I no one was ahead of me. I was out in front until two younger guys passed me at about the half-mile mark. I hung a few yards behind them until there was about a mile left. One of the guys had moved out further ahead and the other guy made a wrong turn. I followed him, but then turned around when he did. So I ran beside him for a ways further and then he faded back.

I came in second with one of my better 5k times despite the heat and the fact that I was running in my swim suit. Then I sat on the beach and swam/snorkeled the rest of the day.
