17 degrees and snow on the ground. A nice way to finish out the year.

After the injuries, sickness, laziness and bad eating habits of the past few months, I knew I wasn't ready for this one. But, I hadn't raced in a long time, and this one is so darn fun, I gave it a go anyway.

Not as bad as I had feared. The whole field was slowed down a bit because of the 17 degree weather and falling snow that hid the black ice patches on the greenbelt. I kept the first mile under 7 minutes, but then slowed down by about a half minute for the rest of the way.

As usual, the race ended with good soup, good conversation and football on the tvs. Not a bad way to start off the new year.

Did the full 7 mile route with Randy this morning. I think we are both healthy now -- just out of shape.

Randy made a new rule, if it is below 10 degrees, we don't run. It was 7 this morning. So, I went out for a noon run. It was still cold.

Still cold. Trying to stay motivated. Tomorrow I start up the diet and dial up the training on Monday.
